In a campaign that involves both spirits and the supernatural, you’d expect the resident shaman to be a pretty powerful character, and that’s true. Gobbet is a fantastic spellcasting partner in Shadow Run: Hong Kong.
She’s a rat shaman with lots of cool spells to use and abuse during battle and an evil SMG to fall back on when spells just aren’t enough. Investing her time in planning her abilities will pay off for her.
Gobbet’s best skills
Companions can pick up new upgrades with every two quests you complete, regardless of whether they actually participated in the quests.
Gobbet’s skill trees are Territoriality and Spiritualist. The former helps her deal more damage and be a more effective spell casterwhile the second deals exclusively with her ability to summon spirits and control them.
Gets better | territoriality | Spiritualist |
---|---|---|
1 | ranged combat: Increases ranged combat and SMG by 1 point each. | spiritual control: The spirits that Gobbet summons will never be separated in the first two turns after summoning them. |
two | destroy the spirit: Gobbet gains an ability that deals 99 DMG to any hostile spirit, killing them instantly. | steal spirit: Gobbet gains the ability to steal enemy spirits, flipping them to your side in battle. When he reaches rank 5 spiritbending, he can steal two spirits at once. |
3 | poison mist: Gobbet learns Acidic Fog, which now does AP DMG in addition to Poison Fog’s usual HP DMG. | sanctuary spirits: Spirits summoned by Gobbet will now linger for an additional turn, a total of 3 turns total. |
4 | plague barrier: Gobbet gains a powerful barrier spell that deals 14 HP DMG and 1 AP DMG to everyone who fills the affected cells. | Devil Rat Spirit Fetish: Gobbet now carries an evil rat spirit fetish with her on all quests. |
5 | Rush: Gobbet learns to cast Channeled Haste, which lasts 4 turns and will also increase Gobbet’s accuracy by 15% when cast. | consume spirit: Gobbet can consume spirits, healing her for 10 HP and increasing her AP by 1 per turn for 2 turns. |
How you build Gobbet will largely depend on how you intend to use it in battle, as the two playstyles are quite different. you can go all-in on his Spirit Summoning either improve your skills as a spell caster. Both are worth considering, as there are very powerful options in either skill tree.
Our recommended build
This construction takes Spirit Control, Destroy Spirit, Poison Mist, Devil Rat Spirit Fetish, and Haste.
We take Gobbet for the spell caster path since these spells are more widely applicable. Sure, spirits can be very powerful, but they’re limited to ambient summons and consumable fetishes – once those run out, Gobbet is a bit hampered.
Having said that, we take Spirit Control and Devil Rat Spirit Fetish for good reason. Have the option summoning spirits and having them stay loyal for at least two turns is very useful, more than a little extra weapon damage for a spell caster. For the second update, it’s easy to find Devil Rats more powerful than a useful Plague Barrier spell for the situation that enemies are quite adept at avoiding, thanks to clever pathfinding. the opportunities of strength enemies in a Barrier spell are few and far between.
It is worth noting that when you they can making Plague Barrier work, it’s incredibly powerful. The fourth update is the one that depends the most on personal choice.
The final update is an easy choice. Thanks to the second update, you will already have a way to deal with the enemy spirits, and enemy spirits are pretty rare in this game anyway. Also, Haste is one of the most powerful spells in the entire game.and this is the strongest form of it.
