The fans are celebrating Sonic the HedgehogBlue Blur’s birthday has a new game on the market. Not only that, but the chili-dog-loving video game mascot is also celebrating milestones and looking forward to more throughout this year.
The account for Sonic the Hedgehog The movie franchise was quick to give its birthday wishes, all the while walking on eggshells about the actual age of the mammal.
While the character, played by Ben Schwartz in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie and its sequel, is presented as sort of a child or teenager in the movies, the truth of the matter is that the character is actually 31 years old to the day. That’s because the original Sonic the Hedgehog The video game was released on the Sega Genesis console on June 23, 1991, according to the Sega Wiki.
An even older video game mascot, Pac-Man, gave Sonic his warm birthday wishes.

Not only is it Sonic the Hedgehog’s birthday on Thursday, but it also marks the re-release of his first four mainline games. sonic origins, which is available now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S/One and PC. The game collection includes Sonic the hedgehog, Sonic the hedgehog 2, sonic the hedgehog cdY sonic the hedgehog 3 and knuckles.
sonic the hedgehog 2 film director Jeff Fowler and stars Schwartz and Lee Majdoub were celebrating the film’s milestone of reaching over $400 million at the worldwide box office, as we got this covered previously reported. That’s quite a birthday present indeed.

Another fan’s epic artwork tied together the many iterations of the blue blur years, from the games to the comics to the TV shows. Anyone up for some multiversal Sonic the Hedgehog shenanigans?
Unsurprisingly, a Sonic fan account also celebrated the main character of the franchise on his birthday.
Even Sonic’s nemesis, Dr. Ivo Robotnik, got some love. After all, it’s also his birthday.
The entire team was on hand to celebrate Sonic’s birthday in yet another piece of art.
“I love this blue hedgehog so much. 😭”, was the emotional proclamation of a fan.
Another fan showed off an impressive collection of Sonic figurines and stuffed animals.
There’s a lot more in store for Sonic the Hedgehog in the near future, including a Netflix animated series, sonic prime, release soon. An adventure game that redefines the genre, sonic frontiers, is also scheduled for a holiday 2022 release and is being touted by Sega as a 3D game for the next generation with new gameplay and level designs. A Knuckles spin-off television series, based on the Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise and starring Idris Elba, is also in the works at Paramount Plus.
