It’s about time for another week of exciting fast racing action with Games Done Quick. Summer Games Done Quick kicks off June 26 and will run for the entire following week on the GDQ Twitch channel. This year’s festival features some new additions to the speedrunning lineup, like Elden Ring and Monster Hunter: Rise, and kicks off with a somewhat niche (but action-packed) take on a PlayStation classic.
This year’s SGDQ begins with Rubiehart performing a random normal time attack from Shadow of the Colossus. This run skips all the open-world game cutscenes and cutscenes and goes straight for the jugular: 16 fights against juggernauts in random order. It is scheduled to take around 47 minutes.
There are great races to watch every day of the week. June 27th, tune in to Brossentia, NPC, FlannelKat, and Peace Egg’s any% run of the small Phasmophobia maps. June 28 will feature an any% run through Yakuza: Like A Dragon on PC, and that’ll be around four hours and 25 minutes, perfect if you need something a bit longer to sink your eyes into.
SGDQ will be raising money for the international humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières, with 100% of all donations raised during the event going directly to the organization.
You can tune in to the GDQ Twitch channel.
The full schedule for SGDQ 2022 can be found on the official website. The event ends on July 3rd with a 33-minute race in any% of Hyp3rsomniac’s Elden Ring, which we definitely don’t want to miss.
