Stray Blade just got a new trailer that dives into how weapon forging, upgrading, and mastery work in the upcoming RPG.
As part of the Future Games Show Powered by Mana, developer Point Blank Games released a new trailer dedicated to how various weapon systems will work in the game, set to release sometime in 2023.
Once a player has found a blueprint for a new weapon, they will be able to craft it at a Forge, if they have the necessary materials that they have gathered in the Lost Valley of Acrea.
Once forged, weapons can be upgraded simply by using them as part of the game’s combat system, which focuses on precise attacks and quick reactions. Leveling up your weapon mastery can allow you to unlock new attacks, but when you hit 100% mastery, that’s when things get really interesting.
At that point, you unlock the skill tree attributes for your weapon, so you can really dial in and customize how you want to wield your weapon in battle.
Of course, there are also other ways to customize your blades, like unlocking various color palettes to mix the images. And that’s before you’ve even found the Arcane Forge to craft the highest-tier gear and weaponry, as well as the rarest.
There is much to discover in Stray Blade as you explore the ruins of an ancient civilization with your partner Boji. Time behaves strangely in this place, while if you die, time continues without you for a while. Revisit the places where you’ve had wins or losses and you’ll see the impact you’ve had there. Actions have consequences, don’t you know…
Stray Blade will release sometime in 2023 on PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5. Don’t forget, now you can add Stray Blade to wishlist on Steam. (opens in a new tab).
