What is the release date of Temtem? On what media?
Announced in crowdfunding in 2018 and then in very complete early access for two years now, Temtem has already been able to delight its players. The wait is finally over since it is only a few days away from its final release. This is September 6that we can officially play this very good Pokémon Doppleganger, on a wide range of media: PC, Switch, PS5 and Xbox.
Who is Crema, the studio behind Temtem?
Crema is a Spanish studio which appeared in 2009 with mainly applications for smartphones. It was in 2012 that the studio decided to move towards video games, and in particular mobile games, before moving definitively towards larger-scale video games. Their very first game on console and PC, an FPS / Rogue-like called immortal Redneck, was a very good surprise since it was a great success among players with an average of 9/10 on Steam.
What is the history of Temtem?
As in Pokémon, the player is in search of creatures. These are called Temtem, and you live in perfect harmony with them on the Airborne Archipelago, a group of six floating islands. To prove your worth as a trainer, you will need to undertake a journey to these six islands. It won’t be without obstacles as you’ll encounter the Belsoto Clan, an evil group that seeks to use the Temtems for nefarious deeds. It will be up to you to fight against this organization in order to keep the peace on the Airborne Archipelago.
What is the gameplay of Temtem?
As you will have understood, Temtem has a gameplay extremely close to that of Pokémon, where you will have to catch Temtems to make them stronger during your adventure. These small creatures are found in nature, more precisely in tall grass, and you will have to capture them only after having weakened them. It is by traversing the archipelago that the player becomes, stage after stage, dojo after dojo, stronger.
The fights are turn-based, like Pokémon, where the player must know their creatures perfectly in order to know how to defeat his opponent. Thanks to the online mode, players will be able to compete two against two.
If you are thirsty for a challenge, the competitive mode will delight you. Trainers will be able to compete to climb the ladder. Note that competitive fights have a banishment system, where players each banish their opponent’s Temtem in order to try to put the odds on their side from the start of the fight. Each player starts with 8 temtems, and the ban cycle continues until they have five. Only after the banishments can the fight begin.
Temtem allows us to perform housing, that is to say to have his own house in an area called Atoll Row, which the player can decorate as he wishes. Each house will be visitable by players.
