The release time for Terraria 1.4.4 has been confirmed by developer Re-Logic, so you can make preparations to jump in the instant the Labor of Love update goes live.
“Our plan is to release the update on PC at 10am EST on September 28,” developer Re-Logic says in a blog post. cheep (opens in a new tab). (For those of you confused by American time zones, we tend to use EST and EDT interchangeably, even though the latter is technically correct this time of year.) Keeping in mind, those systems are more complex, so the actual time it gets to your device may vary, you’ll want to keep an eye out!
Terraria 1.4.4 release time
Terraria 1.4.4 is out on PC via Steam on Wednesday September 28 at 7am PDT / 10am EDT / 3pm BST. Versions for other platforms, including Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, iOS, and Android, should be available around the same time, though those patches may lag behind the PC version a bit.
This release marks a huge first for Terraria, as it will be the first patch to be released simultaneously across all platforms supported by the game. Previous updates first came to PC before moving to other platforms, and there was often a wait of months before patches became available everywhere.
1.4.4, also known as the Labor of Love update, focuses heavily on smaller balance and quality of life features, though there is some notable new content, including some major new features focused on builders. You can get full details on what’s been revealed so far on the official wiki, though full patch notes won’t be released until the update does.
Labor of Love is billed as a response to Terraria winning the fan-voted ‘Labor of Love’ award on Steam last year, and serves as the fourth major content patch since the game’s “final update” in 2020, Journey’s End. Then we had Journey’s Actual End, a Don’t Starve crossover, and, well, Terraria may never end, after all: Re-Logic still intends to make crossplay work in the future.
