Last week, The Ascent celebrated its one year anniversary by teasing the arrival of new content or DLC. (opens in a new tab). This week, it was finally officially confirmed: the Cyber Heist DLC will be released on August 18.
“It’s our first anniversary!” the team announced last week. “We’re humbled by the support and love we’ve had since launch. Thank you to our amazing community for sticking with us and playing our game! We appreciate each and every one of you! Now with that being said, I’ll just leave this [ten-second video teaser] here…”
While we yet You still don’t know all the details yet: Neon Giant’s latest video trailer doesn’t reveal much more than what we saw last week, but does announce: “Indents! Get ready for a whole new contract! Cyber Heist DLC arrives on August 18th!”

Neon Giant promises we’ll see a “final trailer at launch,” so keep an eye out for that later this month.
“The Ascent is a beautiful game that feels overloaded with ambition,” said Josh in his GamesRadar+ Review of The Rise (opens in a new tab)giving it an average of 2.5 stars out of 5.
“The scale of its world is grand, but there’s little of interest to do in it. It’s densely populated with characters, but few have little of interest to say and even fewer react to how your actions impact their reality. combat is tight to control but has little real variation.
“If you were able to get some friends together with an Xbox Game Pass subscription and go through The Ascent for a few nights, you’ll probably have a good time, but don’t come here expecting a cyberpunk world you can invest any of yourself in.”
But despite the incomprehensible narrative, poor communication, and difficulty spikes, Josh said it has amazing visual design, fun encounters, and tight firefights.
