news culture The Batman: Can you solve the new riddle of the Riddler?
The Batman is still on top, almost two weeks after its release. With 463.2 million dollars generated at the worldwide box office, Bruce Wayne’s new adventure continues to seduce the public. At the same time, the solving of the Riddler’s puzzles continues on the Internet.
To promote the film and engage fans, Warner Bros. and DC Comics created a real-fake site, rataalada.comon which the Riddler invites players to solve puzzles to unlock content related to the movie. We thought then that it would only work until the release of the film, but in reality, it has never offered as many puzzles as since March 2!
WARNING: Everything that follows presents a real risk of spoiling if you have not yet seen Matt Reeves’ film, so be sure to continue reading.
Codes, photos, and theories
At the end of the credits of The Batman, a very short sequence appeared, reading “Goodbye?” and inviting us to visit the site again of the mystery man. Once there, codes were displayed, visibly referring to different issues of the comicsevoking both Catwoman, the Joker, arkham asylum or even the first appearance of Harvey Dent, as well as a coded image meaning:
You think I’m finished, but maybe you don’t know the whole truth. Every end is a new beginning. Something is brewing.
When we brought up the subject last week, a loading percentage showed 41%. Since then, 100% has been reached, because this percentage we were meeting on Friday at 7 p.m. for subsequent events. At the appointed time, a new message appeared, accompanied by a download link:
You have come this far. Now, let’s see if you’re ready to find out more. As you unmask all that has yet to be revealed. I am safe here. With my new friend. We will meet again soon.
Images, a journal, and more new puzzles
The link allows you to download a zip file, titled “know_what_i_know.zip” offering new content seen in the film. We find in this archive many photos of Thomas Wayne, Martha Wayne, Colson… but also the riddler’s diary, which is the subject of numerous researches and theories. At 7:15 p.m., DC Comics posted a tweet that read
There are no “ultimate ends”. Only games and more games. The winner of this round is the loser of the next round…and so on…and so on” – Edward Nashton
At the same time, the rataalada site revealed a new coded image, decrypted in a few minutes. A message that quickly excited fans of the universe, since it means: “Gotham loves comebacks”. Accompanied by HA HA HA HA HA from Jokerthis message, corresponding to a sentence pronounced by the one we imagine to be the Joker in the film, leaves more and more to imagine that a sequel or a series dedicated to the Joker is on the way. Remember also that a few days ago, Matt Reeves confirmed the development of a spin-off dedicated to Arkham Asylum in addition to series dedicated to Colin Farrell’s Penguin. These two spin-offs are expected on HBO Max.
