Following its acclaimed adventure under the sea, Unknown Worlds sets sail for a new sci-fi universe.
As we echoed today, the opening ceremony of the GamesCom 2022 will have some luxury guests to present their novelties. That is the case of Unknown Worlds, better known for being the team behind the acclaimed Subnautica, which will be at the conference to show off its next video game.
The production is not totally anonymous. Shortly after the sale of Unknown Worlds to Krafton, Inc. was announced, the San Francisco-based studio’s plans to develop a strategy video game set in a newly minted science fiction universe, thus ruling out a possible relationship with Subnautica. That IP, however, will also be the protagonist of a second undetailed release.
The strategy title responds to the code name of Project M and, for the moment, has not offered more clues about its main playable and plot premises, although luckily all this will change on August 23 at 8:00 p.m. (peninsular time). The so-called Opening Night Live, presented by regular Geoff Keighley, will last two hours and will leave news of at least 30 video games.
It is very possible that during these next two weeks we will meet more guests at GamesCom 2022, that this course recovers its face-to-face format after two years of absence of the public as a precaution due to the global pandemic.
With Subnautica and its expansion, Below Zero, Unknown Worlds proved capable of delivering lasting gameplay experiences for the player. If you want to know more you can read the analysis of Subnautica published in 3DJuegos.
