Taking to Twitter to comment on the jaw-dropping box office performance of Greta Gerwig’s spectacular romp, the horror veteran noted that she’s on her way to securing one of the biggest opening weekends in the world for any feature that isn’t a sequel, remake or reboot.

If you exclude sequels and remakes, BARBIE’s 300 million worldwide opening is the third-biggest ever – only BLACK PANTHER and CAPTAIN MARVEL opened bigger. So if you also exclude the MCU origin movies, BARBIE is number 1.
