Explanations and excuses
For more than a year, Ezra Miller (Fantastic Beasts) keeps on multiply the legal setbacks. The actor has been guilty of numerous wrongdoings, ranging from disturbing public order to burglary, through accusations of embezzlement of a minor. The actor had remained largely silent about his actions despite everything. He now has gave explanations through the newspaper Varietyreferring to “mental disorders”.
Having recently gone through a period of intense crisis, I now understand that I suffer from complex mental disorders and have therefore started treatment. I want to apologize to anyone I may have upset or hurt through my behavior. I am committed to doing all the work necessary to return to a healthy and productive life.
Better omens for The Flash?
All the scandals provoked by Ezra Miller have had repercussions on the promotion of his next film at DC, The Flash, to the point of having endangered his exit. Warner Bros. and DC had also been very discreet about the behavior of the actor, not knowing how to approach the question. According to The Hollywood Reporter, three solutions offered to the studios regarding the release of The Flash.
The first possibility was for Ezra Miller to apologize as a result of his actions and that he undergoes therapy. In case this is not possible, the second alternative would have seen the release of the film without comment on the case and removing the actor from the promotion. The ultimate solution would simply to cancel the release of The Flashbecause considering reshoots would have been too expensive for a film already completed and having asked for no less than 200 million dollars for the production. In view of Ezra Miller’s press release, it seems that the first solution is implemented by the studios. For now, The Flash is saved from cancellation.
The Flash is scheduled for release on June 23, 2023 in France.
