Netflix has released a new clip from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the second in a planned trilogy of wacky crime novels from writer-director Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi). Glass Onion is coming to Netflix on December 23.
The sequel to Knives Out recently had its world debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, and critics are beginning to submit their reviews of the film. As of this writing, the film has been doing well on Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes; At the time of this writing, it has a total score of 81 and 90 from the handful of critics who have seen it so far. These scores will change as other outlets release your shots, but please note that due to its festival debut, no audience ratings are available yet. And of course you can decide for yourself based on the new clip below that Netflix just released.
The film’s cast includes Daniel Craig returning as master sleuth Benoit Blanc, along with newcomers Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista. Based on reviews, we now know that Norton plays a colorful tech billionaire named Miles Bron. Bron invites his friends on a getaway to his private Greek island, but when someone turns up dead, Craig’s detective Benoit Blanc takes on the case.
In addition to Knives Out 3, which will likely start to come into focus next year following the release of Glass Onion in the coming months, Johnson also has a Peacock series coming up. Entitled Poker Face, the mystery drama is proving to be another opportunity for the director to put together an eclectic and exciting cast. According to Variety, Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy), Nick Nolte (Warrior), Charles Melton (American Horror Stories), and Tim Blake Nelson (Watchmen) have joined so far. Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll) will reportedly play a detective, or some kind of character, it’s not clear yet, who will work to solve different murders in each episode.
