The Last of Us, HBO’s new hit
HBO is no stranger to success, it must be said that the broadcast channel is behind several cult series starting with Game Of Thrones, Euphoria and House of the Dragon to name only the most recent productions. Moreover, it seems once again that the channel had a good nose since by signing a partnership with Sony and Naughty Dog to produce the series The Last of Usshe seems to have secured a bright future.
It was yesterday, on the occasion of the Last of Us Day that the American chain of Warner Bros. unveils the trailer for the series The Last of Us, a proposal eagerly awaited by all fans of the first opus of Naughty Dog’s game. For those who are still unaware, this series, expected for 2023, retraces the adventures of Joel Miller and Ellie Williams. We can then see them again crossing the United States to bring Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, to safety alongside the Fireflies, a group of resistance fighters who are looking for a cure for the cordyceps virus.
This first trailer, moreover, in less than 24 hours only, gathered more than 12.5 million views, which is not nothing.
A series for the least expensive
If all the lights are green for The Last of Usthis is more than very good news since HBO bet big on this first season of the series. In addition to bringing together a cast of first choice with Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Narcos) as Joel and Bella Ramsey (Game Of Thrones) in that of Ellie, note that each of the episodes of the series is worth around 10 million euros. To give you an idea, the first episodes of Game Of Thrones were worth between 6 and 15 million euros, and those of House of the Dragon cost 20 million euros.
