The Last of Us Part 1 went gold ahead of its September release, Naughty Dog announced.
The studio took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to celebrate the good news, as when a game “goes gold” it means its publisher has deemed it finished and ready to ship. It also usually marks the point at which a game is most likely not to be delayed, barring unforeseen circumstances that may affect its release date.

Unfortunately, while we technically have a new trailer, it’s basically just a shortened version of the announcement trailer, and as far as we can tell, there’s no new footage to see here. Still, it’s great to hear that the final touches have been put on the new version and it’s ready to ship; now we just have to wait a couple of agonizing months before we can step into Joel Miller’s remade shoes.
While many people are already putting in their Last of Us Part 1 pre-orders, some others are criticizing Naughty Dog for imposing a $70 price tag ($80 for the deluxe edition and $99 for the Firefly edition), calling it ” cash”. take.” However, one of the game’s developers, animator Robert Morrison, responded to those criticisms, calling The Last of Us remake “the most meticulously constructed and designed project I’ve ever seen or been a part of.” throughout my career.”
