Game News The Last of Us Part 1: Sony confirms bad news for European PS5 players
The Last of Us remake, which should have been the big surprise of Summer Game Fest, finally had the effect of a wet firecracker following an error that caused all the information to be published on the PlayStation Blog before its time. . Despite the absence of surprises, the official announcement still marked the evening.
On September 2, players with a PS5 will be able to rediscover the cult game from 2013, renamed The Last of Us Part 1 for the occasion.
An official remake after months of rumors
Integrating the base game allowing us to follow the adventures of Joel and Ellie in a world ruined by cordyceps infection and the primitive behaviors of human beings seeking to survive, The Last of Us Part I will also contain Left Behind, a DLC set before the events of the main game and featuring Ellie and Riley. Redone “from scratch”the remake modernizes environments, faces, audio, AI and controller-in-hand sensations to give a new dimension to this narrative action game.

Naughty Dog has been asked about the value of spending a lot of money and using a lot of resources to develop this remake, and the response was quite transparent: the goal is to reach the fansbut also players who have arrived on PS5 and PC and who missed the game in 2013. Because yes, The Last of Us Part 1 will also be released on PC, at a date unknown at this time. At the time of the announcement, Naughty Dog and Geoff Keighley unveiled several editions for the title : the first is the standard edition, which costs the sum of 79.99 euros, a Deluxe edition at 89.99€.
Can we hope to finally be entitled to the Firefly Edition?

But a third edition, a physical version of the Deluxe, was also presented. In a pretty white cardboard box, the Firefly Edition features never-before-seen black and white artwork, and contains a steelbook, the physical game, in-game bonuses, and all four issues of American Dream comics. One edition sold for $99.99, that some European collectors would like to have. Unfortunately, we quickly learned that this edition was reserved for North America. A decision that has led players to ask Naughty Dog and Sony many times to also release this version in Europe, but which has also iinvited our Gameblog colleagues to contact Sony.

These asked the editor if the fan comments could possibly lead to a change of heart. According to our colleagues, Sony would have replied that this Firefly edition would remain an American exclusivity, and that we should not expect any special edition either… However, it remains possible to go through the import, but between the cost of the product, shipping, customs, and speculation, prices have already skyrocketed. On eBay, pre-orders are already selling for more than 415 dollarswhile the product is not even in the hands of the sellers.
