Riot Games has finally lifted the veil on the redesign of Udyr, League of Legends’ latest in-game visual update, or VGU.
The new trailer doesn’t fully explain what the new Udyr can do, but it does discuss all of his main abilities, which appear to be tied to his primary animal forms, now referencing the demigods of the Freljord. You can see them all for yourself below. Perhaps most importantly, the trailer shows off a lot of Udyr’s new look, which is one of the most powerful daddy bodies I’ve ever seen in a video game.
“With the ability to communicate with each and every spirit of the Freljord, Udyr channels and transforms their ethereal energy into his own savage physical fighting style,” as his new official biography explains. “Through his growing mastery of this imposing and versatile power, Udyr seeks to maintain the balance of the Freljord’s mystical landscape, where conflict and strife are his blood…and where sacrifices must be made to keep the peace throughout.” stripe”.
Udyr was the overwhelming winner of a vote last year for the game’s next VGU, and Riot has acknowledged that the aging champion hasn’t kept up with the game’s more modern characters. A number of dev blogs have provided an early look at the revamped champion, and luckily, Riot ripped the band-aid off his missing horns early. (RIP horns.)
League of Legends has been running for a long time at this point, so the VGU series has been Riot’s attempt to modernize old characters to fit in with the current game, in terms of graphics, gameplay, and lore.
Riot has also been providing some details about their projects outside of the League lately, explaining why his MMO was revealed so soon and confirming that your The fighting game will be free-to-play.
