The first trailer for the new horror movie Smile is grabbing everyone’s attention, including a historic stopwatch of one final scare.
After witnessing the death of one of her patients under strange circumstances, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) is suddenly confronted with a horrible evil that causes those who come near him to smile and then die, and Rose could be next. .
As a premise, it’s delightfully simple. The trailer also shows off enough gore, suspense, and mystery to get you hooked and then hooked. It already has horror fans buzzing on social media too.
“I’ll never sleep again, so that’s it,” said one on Twitter (opens in a new tab). Other just called it (opens in a new tab) “absolutely terrifying.” It’s already getting under the skin of some in a big way too, with a writing (opens in a new tab)“Twitter please stop promoting the horror movie Smile on my feed, I can’t take another heart attack.”
It is also being described (opens in a new tab) as “the only threat to [Jordan Peele’s Nope] so it could be the best horror movie of the year.” But it’s the final moments, which we won’t spoil here if you haven’t seen the trailer yet, that will live long in the memory.
