A new mod that takes the themes of the Elden Ring and reimagines them in the massive sandbox world of Minecraft is now demoed.
Since its launch in 2009, Minecraft It has become one of the biggest video games in history. That includes in terms of its physical extent. With the exception of something like no man’s sky, Mojang’s Sandbox IP is easily one of the largest video games in terms of map size. Given this huge landscape to play with, fans have spent the last decade or so creating or recreating some immensely complex structures, and sometimes these projects bring in worlds from other franchises.
As spotted by PCGamesN, a new mod for Minecraft by a user named SeriousCraft is currently in development which is based on elden ring. According to the Planet Minecraft download page, “Elden World” is about 40% complete, and a demo is currently available for anyone who wants to try it out. The mod contains four square kilometers to discover, which also includes more than 20 dungeons and castles. For fans of both games, it looks like it’s going to be a very interesting project to watch, especially once it’s complete. Currently, there doesn’t seem to be a release window for the final build.
It’s no wonder FromSoftware’s latest action RPG has become the subject of a fan-made Minecraft Project. Since its launch in February, elden ring it has become one of the highest rated games of all time, with a Metacritic score of 96 on current-gen consoles and 94 on PC, at the time of writing. Those familiar with the game will recognize some of the elements in the world of SeriousCraft, with images showing off some of the pretty spectacular work being done on the map.
FromSoftware’s game has been influencing people since its release, and this project isn’t the first of its kind. A few months ago, another Minecraft user built elden ring-inspired terrain, showing not only a wealth of building talent, but also the impact the game has had on the community, especially fans of Minecraft.
It’s not uncommon for other game franchises to make their way to Mojang’s open world title. the likes of Skyrim have also found their way into Minecraft, with fans building the town of Solitude, or Bleak Falls Barrow. Such recreations are impressive and allow players to imagine what other games might look like when built with 1×1 blocks. It remains to be seen what other interesting projects the community will come up with, but evidently there is still plenty of life left in the sandbox game.
Minecraft is available for mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
