Ever since we learned that Ash Ketchum and Pikachu would be leaving the Pokémon animated series, our thoughts naturally turned to what comes next. pokemon horizons began airing in Japan in April, and The Pokémon Company has now revealed a sneak peek of the western dub of the series at San Diego Comic-Con 2023.
The 11-minute clip (seen above) introduces us to the new series’ protagonist, Liko, as she first visits the Kanto region and enrolls in school there. This all adds up to Liko getting her first Pokémon partner, but who will she be? You’ll have to watch the trailer to find out (although it won’t surprise those who have paid attention to the marketing thus far).
Unfortunately, there’s no official release date for Pokémon Horizons in the West at the moment, but the Pokémon Company didn’t end there. During the Comic-Con panel, the company also shared a trailer for Ash’s ending on the pokemon last trips series, which will culminate in a special series of episodes called ‘To Be A Pokémon Master’. These aired in Japan a couple of months ago, but will have their western debut on Netflix starting in September 8th — prepare for an emotional goodbye, friends.
We also saw an amazing animated trailer for the Pokémon World Championships kicking off in Yokohama, Japan from August 11 to 13.
Now that’s a lot of Pokemon anime news. First on the list will be Ash and Pikachu’s final run in September, but be sure to keep an eye out over the next several months to get a better idea of when we’ll be able to see more of Liko and her partner Pokémon.
