If there’s something strange in your neighborhood, where are you going to stay? Preferably in a place that is equipped with all the gear you need to keep ghosts, specters, and ghosts at bay. Sony and vacation rental company Vacasa have joined forces to create a Ghostbusters getaway in Portland, modeled after the iconic firehouse headquarters of the paranormal exterminators from the 1984 film.
Fortunately, there is no serious metal fatigue in all load-bearing members, the wiring is not poor, it is not completely inadequate for power needs, and the neighborhood does not look like a demilitarized zone.
The three-story replica will be open to a lucky group of friends for three nights and includes all the amenities you’d expect from a crib inspired by the building shared by Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, Will Zeddemore and Peter. Venkman. Complimentary proton packs, PKE meters, and ghostbuster flight suits are included, an Ecto-1 is parked in the bay area, and there’s even an ecto containment unit to deposit some ghosts. It’s a great time to be a Ghostbusters fan, as the film series is expanding again with a sequel to Ghostbusters: Beyond set to arrive next year. Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, a 4v1 multiplayer game, launches on October 21 and there’s even a highly detailed life-size replica proton pack coming in 2023 that was funded by Ghostbuster fans.
