This Scene From ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Means So Much More After ‘Doctor Strange 2’

Doctor strange in the multiverse of madness features many developments and reveals that could have big consequences for the MCU, but perhaps the one that is literally the most mind-boggling is the explanation of the dreams in the movie. The opening of the film establishes that the dreams of the characters are actually multiversal visions in which they experience life from a variant of another universe.

What this means is that a scene from Avengers: Infinity War now it hits very differently after seeing doctor strange 2. Remember when Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) told Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow) about his dream of having a daughter named Morgan together? We now know that he had a vision of a reality where Morgan was born earlier in the timeline. He even emphasizes how she felt “so real.”

Redditor whiskey__wizard takes credit for pointing this out, with his post on the MarvelStudios subreddit leading fans to realize that there are numerous dream sequences in the MCU that we can now see through a different lens.

Also, Wanda’s illusions that she implanted into the Avengers’ heads in Avengers: Age of Ultron it could be retroactively interpreted as her briefly sending the heroes on a dream ride.

However, others are being spoilers and point out that the multiverse was possibly only created after Sylvie killed The One Who Remains In Loki. However, to be fair, there is some confusion about the difference between alternate timelines and multiverses, so this may not be the case.

Tony’s oddly accurate prophetic dream always seemed a bit (pardon the pun) strange as the reason behind his sudden ability to look into the future was left unexplained. So the revelation about the dreams in multiverse of madness it actually helps us make a lot more sense of it. Likewise, the powers of the Scarlet Witch in Ultron they are also more understandable. We’re used to the MCU just confusing its continuity as it goes along, so it’s nice when a new development really helps things fit together better.
