Trials of Osiris Rewards This Week in Destiny 2 (Aug 5-9)

Trials of Osiris kicks off another weekend in Destiny 2, providing another opportunity to earn new armor, new cosmetics, and new Adept weapons. We’re nearing the end of Season of the Haunted, so now’s the time to make sure you max out your reputation in Trials and win those last few flawless races.

Testing starts with the daily reset on Friday, so we’ll update this article when the event starts.

Trial weapons now carry the origin trait Swiftness. Gives you increased aim assist, reload speed, stability, and range on your trial weapons when you’re the last member of a fireteam alive or running solo. You can also choose to switch to Crucible Origin Trail, One Quiet Moment, which greatly improves your weapon’s reload speed when reloading while out of combat.

As always, testing will be available from the daily reset on Friday at 10am PT/1pm ET until the weekly reset at the same time the following Tuesday. During that time, you can also visit Xur to see what exotics he’s selling. Be sure to visit Saint-14 in the Tower to pick up a Trials card, which will dictate certain bonuses (such as whether you get bonus rewards on certain milestones or if a loss will be forgiven).

Trials of Osiris is a weekend PvP mode that runs from the daily reset on Friday to the weekly reset on Tuesday, giving you four days to participate. Your goal in trials is for you and the other two players on your team to achieve a “Flawless” run, in which you win seven matches without losing any.

Go flawless and you’ll earn a trip to the lighthouse and receive some special rewards, including new Adept weapons. These have additional stat bonuses, making them one of the most coveted items you can get your hands on.

However, thanks to a bunch of changes to Trials this season, the mode is a bit easier than it has been. Trials of Osiris now features matchmaking, so you can jump into matches even if you don’t have a full three-player team to take on. Your Trials Passage, the card you buy from Saint-14 that grants you access to the mode and keeps track of your earnings, now does No keep track of your losses, so you can keep playing and earning rewards even if you lose a flawless race. Bungie has also adjusted Trials so you earn rewards based on the number of roundsinstead of matches, you’ve won during your session and added a reputation system that’s similar to the Crucible and Gambit, making it easier to earn some of the exclusive Trials of Osiris loot.

Finally, you will earn Trials Engrams for participating in the mode, which you can redeem with Saint-14 during the weekend you receive them. Thanks to the new update, you can adjust those engrams to produce specific pieces of loot, or take your chances with random drops that will expand what’s available in your loot pool. So even if you’re just jumping into Trials alone, there are plenty of ways you can earn some great new gear.
