Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, the futuristic sequel to Vermintide from developer Fatshark, is offering beta sign-ups, with playtesting set to begin later this month.
Registrations for the beta version of Darktide are active on the official site (opens in a new tab). The developers say the beta is scheduled to start “mid-August,” with further testing to continue in the lead up to release. The first tests will focus on PC, but the beta will eventually include Xbox gamers as well.
Early beta builds will focus on a variety of technical tests, and invites will be limited and sent based on your platform, specs, or location. However, one registration will put you in consideration for all beta releases, so you only need to do it once. Progress in early testing won’t carry over to the final game, and the developers say that’s unlikely to change “until it’s closer to launch.”
Darktide is coming to PC on November 30, with the Xbox Series X and S version launching soon after. The game had previously been scheduled to release on September 13, after being pushed back from spring 2022 and from 2021 before that.
“While we’re humbled by the great feedback on the game so far, we also need more time to improve stability, performance, and mature key systems,” the developers said in the blog post. most recent delay announcement. “Everyone is critical to making sure we have the best possible experience for you, the players.”
