Thor: love and thunder will mark an uncertain time in the life of the God of Thunder after his heroic journey in the Infinity Saga. In fact, you could bet your bottom dollar that losing his girlfriend, his mother, his father, and his brother, Mjolnir, Asgard itself, and not killing Thanos before the Snap must have taken a higher price than any another MCU character could conceive. But as if poor Sparkles weren’t having enough, Taika Waititi’s next movie will pit him against two of those lost loved ones at the same time, one in the form of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster and the other as a seemingly repaired Mjolnir.
Waititi recently appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and released a new clip of its anticipated follow-up to ragnarok. In it, the titular character of Hemsworth and Korg talk about Jane’s return, and he amusingly comments that it must be hard for Thor to see “his ex-girlfriend and his ex-hammer hanging out and getting along so well.” . Thor then reaches out to summon Mjolnir, but the hammer appears to be unperturbed by his call. Instead, Stormbreaker slowly approaches from behind Thor, so he tries to play it as casual as possible.

Except for its last version in avengers endgame, Odinson may have missed the chance to meet up with Mjolnir again. Sadly, that legendary hammer will never lift Thor again, but the character might still have a chance at getting the girl back.
Guess we’ll find out if the strongest self-proclaimed avenger can meet his happy ending in love and thunder when the movie opens on July 8.
