Good morning, dear friends of Destructoid, and welcome to Whatcha Been Playing? As always, I hope that the week has been kind to you and yours, and that the weekend brings with it the promise of good rest, good times and good weather. It’s the weekend, Evo weekend, and I’m going to make sure I’m semi-tuned to what’s going on in Vegas.
A new fighting game is revealed! What are we going to get? Who are we going to see join the street fighter 6 ready? What does season 2 have in store? faulty gear effort? and are Mileena and Mokap destined to join the list of MultiVersus? All* of these questions will be answered over the next 48 hours, highlighted alongside hundreds of digital matchups and more than a few instances of “Okay… And now we’re ready to… Are we?… Ok… Ok… Now… so let’s take a break right now, guys.
Yes, Evo is back, honey.
As VS Fighting X approaches me, I continue to train deeply. oh not with video gameThat’s a lost cause, man. i’m in deep psychological training for a weekend of being in an exhibition center full of screaming fighting game players, essentially my first “mass” meeting since February 2020. It’s going to be very loud and my anxiety will absolutely be triggered by the experience . But I am determined to face the crowd, see some friends, play some games and drown in the pools.
I will of course do my best to follow all social distancing protocols. I’m stocked up on quality skins, the place is big and open, I won’t be shaking hands or sharing drivers, and I’ll be spending more than my fair share of time outdoors. I haven’t caught COVID yet and I’m not going to start now. But I have to brave the outdoors some time. This pandemic is not going away anytime soon and I am missing the last few years of my knees. I’ll be fine. But hoo boy it’s gonna be weirdo.
Oh… I’ve been playing too Sifufreshly inspired by these delicious fighting game mods.
But that’s enough about me and my wetness. It’s time for you to grab the microphone. Often Imitated, Never Duplicated, Whatcha Been Playing? it has become something of a weekly highlight for me and, I hope, for many of you. I always enjoy reading about the general weekly speech that has been hanging around your social hours. And the rest of the community likes to hear about it too. So whether it’s your first time here or your 200th, my sincerest thanks for taking time out of your weekend to visit us. Here’s to you and here’s to your Saturday. I hope it’s an evil one.
Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
