What is the release date for No Man’s Sky on Nintendo Switch?

No Man’s Sky was announced for Switch during the February 2022 Nintendo Direct, with developer Hello Games providing a release window. The game appears to be running natively on the system and is not streaming like the Kingdom Hearts series or Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. This guide explains when the No Man’s Sky release date is on Nintendo Switch, so you can prepare your console for an intergalactic journey of epic proportions.

When is No Man’s Sky released for Nintendo Switch?

No Man’s Sky will be released for Nintendo Switch in October 7, 2022. This was confirmed in mid-June by Hello Games founder Sean Murray on Twitter. The announcement included a short video of the game running on Nintendo’s hybrid platform in handheld mode, something the community had been waiting for since releasing the game on Nintendo Switch seemed almost impossible.

The game seems to run fine on the Nintendo Switch and, more importantly, there is no mention of a power mode version. This indicates that the game runs natively on the console, which should bode well for gamers who want to take it with them wherever they are.

No Man’s Sky is a pretty massive game to put on an underpowered console like the Nintendo Switch, but somehow Hello Games will release a full port. Throughout your sci-fi adventure, you’ll explore procedurally generated planets with plenty of resources to discover. With the materials you collect, you’ll build equipment for your suit and ship, as well as critical outposts. You’ll also be recruiting allies along the way as you encounter new colonies along the way.

There are plenty of creatures to encounter and unique locations to discover when No Man’s Sky launches sometime this summer. You can spend hours and hours finding new planets in an infinitely generated universe. While Hello Games hasn’t confirmed this, it will likely have online multiplayer as well, so you can explore space with your friends.
