As reported by GlamorSmith’s decision to ditch her long tresses was “associated with an act of rebellion.” The musician and actor continues, “I like to see a glow on my scalp, a bounce of light…Shaving my head is perhaps the most radical thing I’ve ever done in the name of beauty.”
Willow Smith adds, “For a long time, women have been looked at and expected to be in these boxes. It’s up to the people who have been part of the oppression, but it’s also up to us to get out of it. That’s scary, and sometimes it’s dangerous.”
She concludes: “However I feel, I like to do that. I really don’t like to think about it too much. I love being free with it. I think being me is sometimes radical.”
