Game News Wo Long Fallen Dynasty: It follows the same path as Elden Ring and the Souls, beginners abstain!
Revealed for the first time during the Summer Game Fest 2022 last June, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is very quickly perceived as the next Souls-like game. A new challenge in sight that will not be in all hands.
After Nioh, on the way to a new Souls-like
First announced at the Summer Game Fest 2022 Xbox conference held last June, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty sets the tone right away and seems to show Souls-like tunes. After unveiling a short gameplay sequence at the end of August, the title returns to the forefront of the Tokyo Game Show 2022 and takes the opportunity to deliver a surprise demo on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/ S which was available until yesterday, September 26th.
A sufficient period of time to realize that the game does indeed trace its path straight in the vein of an Elden Ring or rather a Nioh. Because if Team Ninja is in charge of the development of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the Japanese studio is also behind other franchises such as Ninja Gaiden and especially Nioh, two episodes with demanding gameplay and which make all the subtlety of a Souls-like .
Did you say Souls-like? So expect the difficulty to be the same for everyone.
One difficulty, the same experience for all
Masaaki Yamagiwa, the producer in charge of the Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty project, spoke at the microphone of the site MP1st to justify this choice of a single difficulty modehe says:
It’s “good” to have a fixed difficulty so that everyone has the same experience of overcoming a really intense obstacle and they all have that sense of achievement.
For him, if it is essential to keep a single challenge, he stresses that it is equally important to give players a range of different means to meet it.
Wo Long is not an easy game, far from it, but we strive to give players as much freedom and autonomy so they can play the way they want and overcome obstacles in their own way.
In addition to the morale system allowing your character to become even stronger, Masaaki Yamagiwa takes advantage of this interview to announce the addition of a cooperative mode. Like Elden Ring, two other players can come and lend a hand during boss fights, for example.
There’s also multiplayer, which allows you to connect with your friends, two other people, so three in all, and take on bosses as a group. We’re really giving players their own ways to tackle all of these things, it’s really important to Wo Long’s game design.
