Announced earlier this month, the Xbox Elite Series 2 “Core” model is now available. Stripped down to the “essentials,” the new pro-style white controller is $130. Core Elite Series 2 gives Xbox and PC users a cheaper option in the premium controller market. The full component package, which comes with add-ons like additional paddles and analog sticks, is available for $60. Both products are available to purchase at the Microsoft Store Y Amazon.
The controller has adjustable tension thumb levers, a rubber grip on the handles, and hair trigger locks. Button mapping is available through the Xbox Accessories app, just like for the regular model.
If gamers want to upgrade or replace components on an existing Series 2 controller, they can get the full Components Pack for $60 USD. This includes swappable joysticks, paddle shapes, and the new D-pad. It also comes with a carrying case, charging dock, and USB-C cable.
Additionally, Microsoft announced that Elite Series 2 will be added to the Xbox Design Lab this holiday season. This will allow gamers to create and customize their own Xbox controller, with the Elite Series 2 model joining the list of options. Pricing was not announced, but Design Lab controllers are typically around $10 more expensive than standard models.
Microsoft also revealed a new feature for Elite Series 2 owners. Gamers can adjust the Xbox button light on their controller from white to a wider variety of colors. This feature will be available in the Xbox Accessories app.
