Game news Zelda: before the sequel to Breath of the Wild, two remasters for the end of the year?
Is a compilation including Wind Waker and Twilight Princess really planned for Nintendo Switch? That’s what Jeff Grubb, VentureBeat journalist used to insights, who revived the rumor.
- Zelda for 2022?
- Metroid Prime Remaster and Advance Wars in stride?
Zelda for 2022?
This is the rumor that has persisted since last year concerning the Zelda license: Wind Waker and Twilight Princess should be the subject of a compilation at Nintendo, which would already be ready, and which could be released from one minute to the other. A rumor that dates from last year, since the license celebrated its thirty-fifth anniversary there. Fans then expected that Nintendo, as the studio had already done for the 35th anniversary of Mario, would offer for purchase a compilation with the most famous adventures of the Heroes of Time. Instead, an HD edition of Skyward Sword was released for Nintendo Switch last summer, much to the frustration of fans. But now Jeff Grubb revives the rumor, in a podcast filmed and published on April 26:
They want to have a Zelda every year, they kept that. Why don’t they release it this year? If they don’t release it this year or another game this year, well, I wouldn’t understand (…) I think it will be released in October.
Metroid Prime Remaster and Advance Wars in stride?
Note however here that we must be more careful than the previous times: usually supported by comments heard in the corridors of the industry, Jeff Grubb relies here only on his intuition. On this subject, he evokes the release of two other titles for the end of the year. For the first, it is the remaster of the first Metroid Prime. Nothing has been formalized about it by Nintendo. However, rumors dating back to November claimed that the latter exists and that its development would have been completed after the summer of 2021. Jeff Grubb thinks it will be released in November.
Regarding the second, we are walking more on familiar ground since it is Advance Wars: 1+2: expected for December 2021, it has been postponed for the first time for the month of April. Ultimately, Nintendo decides to postpone it a second time due to international news. This time, it is for December that he thinks the game will be released. Dates which may be logical but for which we will await an official communication from Nintendo: on this subject, the next Nintendo Direct of 2022 has not yet been announced.
